PSHE & Wellbeing
Supporting Happy, Healthy, and Resilient Learners
We believe that helping children understand their emotions, build strong relationships, and stay healthy is just as important as academic learning.
Through our PSHE, Science and P.E curriculum, children learn about:
- Daily exercise, healthy eating, and good sleep
- Understanding and managing emotions
- Building positive relationships
- Staying safe online and offline
- Respecting differences and making good choices
Extra Support & Wellbeing Initiatives
We go beyond the classroom to support every child’s wellbeing:
🐾 Fred the Dog
Fred is our school dog. He brings comfort, joy, and a calming presence to pupils across the school.
💬 ELSA Support
Our trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistant works with children to build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem, and help with worries or social challenges.
👫 Nurture Groups
Weekly sessions help children develop friendships, communication skills, and confidence in a small, supportive setting.
🧘 Mindfulness Moments
Every PSHE lesson begins with “Calm Me” time—breathing and visualisation exercises to help children regulate emotions.
🗣️ Time to Talk
Children are encouraged to speak to trusted adults. Regular check-ins are scheduled when needed.
🧠 Peer Mentors
Year 6 pupils support younger children on the playground.
🏅 Sports & Events
From tennis to swimming, children try new sports and compete in house teams each term and Sports Day at the end of the year.
We are proud to create a safe, inclusive and caring environment where every child can thrive, emotionally, socially and academically.
