Inclusion & Celebrating Differences
We believe every child should feel seen, heard and valued.
We promote inclusion and celebrate diversity through a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities:
🌍 Learning Through PSHE
Our Jigsaw PSHE units, like Celebrating Differences and Relationships, help children understand and respect others, whatever their background, beliefs or identity.
📚 Diverse Books & Stories
We’ve have a wide range of inclusive texts in Guided Reading and across our library. It’s important that every child sees themselves, and others, reflected in the books they read.
🖼️ Inclusive Resources
Our teaching materials include images and stories from a variety of cultures, helping children learn about the world around them.
🕯️ Celebrating Festivals
We mark key celebrations from many faiths, including:
- Diwali
- Ramadan
- Chinese New Year
- Eid
Alongside Christian festivals and school traditions.
🧑🦯 Understanding Differences
We believe that understanding and respecting differences is key to building a kind, inclusive community. Through a range of experiences, discussions, and curriculum links, we help children develop empathy, celebrate diversity, and appreciate what makes each person unique. Our aim is to nurture confident, respectful learners who value others and contribute positively to the world around them.
🕌 Visits to Places of Worship
Pupils visit a range of religious sites to deepen their understanding of different faiths and communities.
