SEND (Special Educational needs and Disability)

Our Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator is Mr G Geraghty can be contacted via the school office.

The Stoke Poges School SEND policy has been developed with the following aims and objectives in mind:

  • to align with our school ethos to ensure that every pupil is enabled to reach their full potential and to create well rounded individuals who are lifelong learners
  • to operate a ‘whole child’ approach to the management and provision of support for SEND
  • to work within the guidance provided in the SEND Code of Practice, 2015
  • to enable every pupil to experience success
  • to promote individual confidence, self-esteem and a positive attitude
  • to ensure that all pupils, whatever their special educational needs, receive appropriate educational provision through a broad and balanced curriculum that is relevant and differentiated, and that demonstrates coherence and progression in learning
  • to give pupils with SEND equal opportunities to take part in all aspects of the school’s provision, as far as is appropriate
  • to identify, assess, record, and regularly review pupils’ progress and needs
  • to work in partnership with children and their families at every stage of the SEND process
  • to work collaboratively with other professionals and support services
